Hi, I'm Meranda

Photography really did choose me!

After I had my 3rd baby girl, I found myself in a position I think a lot of mothers feel. What happens when these girls grow up and leave my house? What value will I hold for myself outside of being a wife and mother? It's a dark thought, I'll admit! lol I might've experienced a bit of postpartum, or even a mid-life crisis. I had no idea that I was just about to find myself again, in a career that completely changed everything..

I grew up with a love for music. I've been singing since I was able to speak and I've played guitar since I was around 16 years old. I met my husband Dave through music and we still play shows to this day. Our oldest daughter Alahna loves to sing!! Emery is learning guitar and ukulele and loves to sing as well. They've both been in several plays/musicals, and they absolutely amaze me every day with how talented they are! Our youngest, Mila, is always dancing around the house making up songs. All three of our girls have been singing on stage with us since they were able to speak and it still brings me to tears to watch them.. It's always been our thing! Still, I needed something for myself.

It wasn't until our best friend/photographer/ band mate fell ill to appendicitis that I finally found my calling. (Sorry Shelly)

She had a New Years wedding to photograph only 3 days after her surgery and she already had a second shooter, but was in need of another person to hold her camera for her after surgery. My husband was supposed to be that person, but I am who I am, and I took over. lol I was hooked!!

Soon after, I found myself bugging her left and right and she graciously taught me everything I needed to learn about photography ( editing, posing, the whole nine yards)!! She even gave me my first camera. A year or so after that, I bought my first camera, (The new mirrorless canon R5) and I had the honor of becoming one of her second shooters for weddings. I owe her everything!!!

Since then I fell in love with life in a way I can't describe. Having the privilege to not only capture the moments of my own family but other families and their real life moments, is something truly special to me. I LOVE weddings, babies, seniors (all of the big moments), but I also LOVE running out in a field with a bunch of kids, holidays, baking, fishing, hiking, or any sort of adventure you have in mind!

Anyway... that's me. I'm a sucker for this job! I would absolutely LOVE to capture your story.
